Abstract

Continued education is considered extremely important in the present context of social, economic, technological and organizational changes, among others. For that reason, it has become imperative to know and understand the characteristics related to continued education found among graduate students from the Business Administration course at Universidade Regional de Blumenau (FURB University). Marketing actions should be based on previous knowledge of potential markets and their needs. Thus, it has been carried out an exploratory and documental research based on reports and surveys applied in 2004, 2005 and 2006 by FURB’s evaluative commission (COMAVI – Comissão de Avaliação Institucional). Apart from the considerations related to continued education, the results also showed graduate students’ profile, their reasons for choosing the Business Administration course and their suggestions for improvements on the curricular structure, teaching methodologies and professors’ qualification. The research revealed, as well, that an average 40% of the students have a partial knowledge of the post graduation courses in the university and another group is not interested in their continued education.
