The school influences the social and personality development for the fact of being an environment where significant cognitives and social experiences occur. The purpose of this study was to analyze the socialization of a child with Syndrome of Down (SD) registered in a regular school in Sao Jose - SC. This is descriptive, qualitative study, the case study type. Participated on this study, the teacher and 20 3rd grade students, one of them with SD. Data collection was done through a semi structures interview and sociométrico test.. From the evaluation of the sociométrico test it can be evidenced that the individual with SD was chosen as first playful choice only for a colleague, with which, as told by teacher, the individual keeps a next relation during the period that passes in the school, therefore, in the first playful choice the individual was in the middle line of the sociometria while in the second playful choice and affective choices the individual was in the inferior limit. It was not observed, therefore, the primary formation of one díade, however, as told by the teacher the student in question in such a way establishes díades of comment and joint activity with the teacher and with the classmates. We conclude that the individual in study meets in socialization process, because, although he is in the inferior limits in the sociometria, is still involved in díades what leads to the idea that the inclusive process favors the relationship in a community and the social insertion of people with educational special needs.Downloads
