Abstract

This research improves the analysis on professors’ work focused on private higher education establishments, placed in the changes of capitalism regulation mode from the 1970’s. The goal is to understand how the ways of control and formation of professor’s consent on higher education in private institutions from Campina Grande (Paraíba, Brazil). As a research methodology, in addition to literature review, interviews were conducted with actual and former professors. In addition, research in labor courts, Ministry of Labor and Union Lecturer was conducted. Besides, Higher Education Census data were raised through Federal Information Access website. This survey revealed a consolidation process of new branch in the capital operations commanded by the state. So, higher education takes a merchandise character and teaching profession adopted a proletarianised and productive work nature, tied to the social life’s real subsumption process to the capital. Thus, private higher education is subjected to modern techniques of labor subjective management, which induce consent and conformity among professors, fueled by fear discipline.
