Abstract

There are books that have urgency. Relatos de Sonhos e de Lutas (Tales of Dreams and Struggles) by Amílcar Neves is one of them. I take advantage of the fact that this same work is on the obligatory reading list for the 2008 college entrance examinations for UFSC to offer this brief commentary. The objective for this is in the desire is to prod high school students and teachers (and all those that are looking for better literature in this global avalanche of publications). More than that, however, the works of Amilcar demand attention because in them we perceive prose in its aesthetic sense. The critical tension that is imposed on each story puts the collection more to the left, given the subtlety of the red tones it spreads the melancholy feeling of something lost. Amilcar makes use of modern technique, directing his texts like someone in charge of the television remote control, like someone photographing connected sequences like someone spinning the Aleph of Borges. Key Words: Literature; Vestibular; Amílcar Neves.
