Incubated at a unruly process that changed the relations between the State and the society and obliged the governments to simplify, reduce or remove restrictions, the Restorative Justice established itself as a central subject of several debates about the future of Justice. Its story in Brazil, first as a researching program and nowadays as a complement or auxiliary to Judiciary. Origins and perspectives of restorative way of justice, theoretical limitations and problems concerning practical actions. For a dual Justice, with practice based on evidences, “what works better and to whomâ€, when to use or not to use restoratives procedures. Key words: Restorative Justice. Responsive Legal Order.
