CONTRADIÇÃO INSTITUCIONAL E MUDANÇA NA ALTA ADMINISTRAÇÃO: O CASO DE UMA EMPRESA NORDESTINA DE TECNOLOGIA DE INFORMAÇÃO

Este artigo teve por objetivo estudar quais conceitos dialéticos de contradições institucionais (SEO; CREED, 2002), podem ser utilizados para explicar a decisão de mudança na alta administração de uma empresa de tecnologia de informação nordestina, chamada neste trabalho pelo nome fictício “TECNA”, mais especificamente, as motivações para a contratação de um Cheff of Executive Office (CEO). Para obter as informações necessárias, foram realizadas entrevistas com os sócios-administradores, controller, ex-controller e o próprio CEO da organização em estudo. As evidências colhidas mostram que a empresa passava por um período de resultados desfavoráveis devido a algumas pressões de mercado e a falta de adaptação ao novo contexto. Desta forma, foram identificadas três fontes de contradições institucionais que motivaram a mudança: a ineficiência técnica, a não-adaptabilidade e a conformidade institucional.
