Abstract

This article aims at analyzing the babassu coconut breakers women’s movement, understanding how women in the Bico do Papagaio region have been organized historically, discussing the different aspects of this social movement from the perspective Nancy Fraser. It is believed that this study becomes important in so far as the babassu coconut breakers women, under the theory of social justice, launches a new look on this region, generally regarded as an area of conflict, seeking to understand the construction of collective identities.
