About the Journal

FOCUS AND SCOUPE

FURB’S JURIDICAL JOURNAL is a quarterly publication linked to a Graduate Course Program Stricto Sensu in Law (GCP) from the Institution Regional University of Blumenau (FURB). Its purpose is to disseminate scientific articles, reflection articles, essays,

reviews and technical productions in Public Law and Constitutionalism, main scope of the GCP. The Journal’s scope also goes along two research lines of the GCP: 1) Democratic State and Constitutional Politics and 2) Constitutional Jurisdiction and Fundamental Rights. In that regard, in addition to essentially constitutional matters and others easily understood from the scope and from the aforementioned lines of research, we allow papers that are identified with the various matters related to public power, political power, constitutionalization of rights (private rights included), democracy, legislative process, political culture, citizenship, human rights, fundamental rights, legal reasoning, legal hermeneutics, sustainability, cultural heritage, intellectual property, ethics, bioethics, penal system, social control, criminology, jurisdictional provision, alternative means of solutions for conflicts, social movements and legal pluralism. Legal work and other areas that dialogue with law are allowed, such as applied social sciences and humanities.

Specific Objectives

a) Publish scientific articles and technical production with the themes identified above.

b) Provide researchers, lawyers, professors and scholars of law and related fields with a space for the publication of scientific texts and research results that can promote reflections and debates on legal topics and encourage the construction of new knowledge and interdisciplinary dialogues.

c) Present relevant contributions by Brazilian and foreign authors that stimulate the understanding of the complexity of the legal system and its relations with different systems and sectors of society, in the different texts and contexts of the globalized world and in the specificities of national, regional and local scenarios.

Professors, students, Law professionals, and related fields.

Submitting Politics

We welcome, as long as the publication rules of this Journal are met, the submissions of scientific articles for publication produced by professors, researchers, students and operators of the Law and related areas, Brazilian or foreign. At least one of the authors must be linked to a Stricto Sensu Graduate Program as a teacher or student.

Types of documents accepted

Unpublished articles, essays and reviews that address topics related to the different areas of law, written in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Italian.

Other technical productions are also accepted, such as legal opinions, comments on jurisprudence, translations, interviews and procedural works.

Unpublished articles or works published in Portuguese, English, Spanish, Italian or German, must pass through the body of reviewers who work in the blind Peer review system, with the exception of some works done, in the composition admitted by Capes' Qualis system.
